Vision

All students at the Keller Compass Center will receive individualized counseling supports that allow them the opportunity to learn and thrive in all areas of their lives and become healthy and happy adults who positively contribute to society.

Mission

The mission of the Keller Compass Center Counseling Department is to provide a comprehensive school counseling program in an alternative school setting that adheres to both ASCA and Texas state standards for providing counseling services to all students in the areas of academic, personal/social, and career development. Through collaboration with our educational partners within and outside of the school, we are committed to providing evidenced-based services and supports that address the needs of the whole child by utilizing guidance curriculum, individual student planning, responsive services, and system supports that foster ongoing community engagement and personal success.

Beliefs

  • We the counselors at the Keller Compass Center believe:
  • All students have a right to access counseling services provided by the KCC Counseling Department.
  • Regardless of current circumstance, with the right supports, all students are capable of achieving success.
  • Mental and emotional health are key components of students' academic development and success.
  • All students have value and are deserving of respect without bias to cultural, academic, or personal differences.
  • Student development can only be achieved in collaboration with students, families, educators, and the community.
